Officers

The Homeowners Association executive board includes the following officers, elected by HOA members to serve a two-year term in accordance with the current Bylaws.

  • Elections are held at the end of each term, at the November Annual Meeting.

  • New officers assume their responsibilities on the following January 1.

  • Terms are from January 1 (first year) through December 31 (second year).

  • Officers include President, Vice-president, Immediate Past President, Treasurer, and Secretary, and may serve no more than two consecutive terms.

  • A Communication Director is appointed as an ex-officio member of the board.

The 2026-2027 officers were elected at the November 3, 2025, annual meeting, and began their new responsibilities effective January 1, 2026.

2026-2027 COMMITTEES

The following committees have been established in accordance with the Remington Villas Bylaws.

Aesthetics Review: Gaylene Halsey, Tom Bush, Craig Zellers

At its first meeting, the Aesthetics Review Committee shall develop standards and rules to govern the approval or disapproval of plans submitted to it which may include adoption of the previous Committee’s rules. Standards and rules shall include maintaining the overall appearance of the subdivision. This committee shall consist of three (3) or more Members of the Association and shall review, approve, or disapprove all plans and specifications submitted by Owners of a Lot.

Audit/Accounting: Perri Martin, Brad Bryant, TBA (Updated: January 17, 2026)

The Audit/Accounting Committee shall consist of three (3) Members, shall review the financial records of the Homeowners Association annually, document any discrepancies, and report to the Board.

Bylaws Committee: TBA (Updated: January 17, 2026)

This committee shall consist of three (3) or more Members of the Association and shall conduct an annual review of the Bylaws of Remington Villas and propose such amendments, additions, or deletions as may be necessary to accommodate the changing needs and activities of the Association.

Environmental: Dave Storey, Chairs (Updated: January 17, 2026)

Social Committee*: Debbie Leakey, Paula Clyma

The Social Committee shall consist of two (2) Members responsible for planning and coordinating social events including neighborhood picnics, luncheons, holiday gatherings, etc., and may work with the Communications Director to send out e-mail announcements and post information on the Association web site.

Neighborhood Watch Program, Tom Peterman

Neighborhood Watch Program logoThe Neighborhood Watch Program (NWP), Chair: Tom Peterman
The NWP was established by the Independence Police Department (IPD) as a way for communities to participate in crime prevention and help keep their communities safe. Neighborhoods participating in the NWP must meet certain criteria, and have at least one representative present at the monthly meetings, which are typcally held the first Tuesday of each month at the police department. Since COVID, however, meeting have not been held in person. Contact NWP Chair Tom Peterman to volunteer to participate as a block captain or liasion(s) between our neighborhood and the Independence Police Department.

Other Ad Hoc Committees

The Board may appoint annually such other committees as it deems appropriate. The Board may invite representatives from each of the committees to attend board meetings and participate in deliberations. The representative of committees shall not be voting members.
